This season, our work tackled questions of justice, morality, identity, and connection—stories that resonate deeply in our era of virtual reality, social media, and rapid technological change. In a landscape where our interactions are often curated and mediated by devices, theatre remains one of the few places where we can gather in real time, look each other in the eye, and experience the messy, complicated beauty of being human.
From the gripping moral dilemmas of Lobby Hero to the sweeping humanity and revolution of Tale of Two Cities, these productions invited audiences to step away from algorithms and into shared spaces of empathy, laughter, and reflection.
We are especially proud to see our SGT Ensemble Members Nate Santana and Adam Schulmerich recognized for their outstanding artistry, alongside the incredible designers, directors, and performers who brought these stories to life.
To all of this year’s nominees: congratulations! And to our audiences—thank you for showing up, leaning in, and proving that live theatre still matters.
